Moving forward
Is sweet relief
When the roar of March
Becomes a bleat
And a life in bloom
Is a chapter closed
When the seedling
Becomes a rose
My friends, March has been quite a ride, don’t you think?
For so many of us, March has been a time of transformation. Blame it on the retrograde, the planets, the turning of the wheel, the farewell to winter and the birth of Spring… whatever it is, we went from holding patterns and lessons in patience to complete and total upheavals of our worlds. And not necessarily for the bad either. No, for many of us, the dawn of April brings about some much needed, much dreamed of, and much hoped for change. New jobs, new communities, new babies, new homes, new cars, new loves, new spiritual awakenings, new outlooks, new mindsets…
Your future awaits…
…and it begins tomorrow.
March, while roaring its way into our lives with crazy weather, overflowing emotions, and topsy-turvy living conditions… has quieted itself to the peaceful bleat of a lamb as we spend our last hours in its arms. And change, while it can be difficult to handle in the moment, always brings about our greatest good. I know some of us have experienced the worst of the worst this month… complete loss of things, people, and places that were a cornerstone in our lives, drastic lifestyle changes, endings of cycles, and all of it preparing us for what lies ahead. Because we are READY! We are ready for the next step. We are ready to walk in the direction of our dreams. We are ready to manifest the SHIT out of those intentions we have been so tirelessly praying over. The energy is shifting. WE are shifting. And we cannot see our dreams realized without going through a little change… however intense that change may be.
But we, as human beings, don’t exactly handle change very well. We claim we want things to change. We beg, we plead, we pray. But when change occurs, the very thing we asked for, we panic and pray for deliverance. We don’t like it when our status quo becomes threatened. We have difficulty readjusting, adapting, navigating the stormy seas that we have to travel to find that blooming paradise.
And y’all, I know it’s hard. Believe me. But so much of what we experience, and how we experience it, is in our own mindset. If we look at change as the destruction of everything, as doom and gloom, as the end of an era… then that is exactly what it’s going to be. And naturally, we are, in turn, going to feel fucking awful. Depressed. Miserable. We will be the Negative Nancys and Debbie Downers of the world. (No offense to the awesome Nancys and Debbies out there of course).
But if we see this change as the realization of our dreams… if we know the new cannot exist without bulldozing the old to make space for itself… if we recognize that change is good, then my friends, life is indeed bliss.
I’m not saying to not feel nervous, or excited, or terrified, or overwhelmed. It comes with the territory, and change is nothing if not dramatic. But… you can’t drown a seedling and expect it to turn into a rose. You have to allow in the sun. And conversely, you can’t send it a constant stream of sunlight and expect it to grow, because you need a little rain. The perfect recipe for that rare beauty is to add in both the sun and the rain. You must mix in both. You need both. Embrace both. A rose cannot bloom without both.
In this dawn of spring, of birth and rebirth, of change… don’t lament the rain. Let the water flow and nourish the soil so your garden may blossom in all its glory. Be brave through that storm. See the blessing in it. Look forward to the sunlight that will inevitably return, sharing its warmth and light with all who seek it. Let the rays kiss the leaves of the tender shoot. See the blessing in it. Let the rain and sun intertwine. Let them dance. Let them shower themselves on all the growing things. Let them work their magic. On the garden. On the rose.
On you.
Don’t be afraid to bloom, dear friends. It is time to show the world just how beautiful you are.
